Melissa first started with the company back in July of 1997.  After leaving for a brief period to spend more time with her children, she returned to the company in September 2004.  In her entire time with the company, Melissa has worked almost exclusively in our accounting office in numerous capacities.  Most recently she has been responsible for everything from accounts receivable to human resources.  She performed beautifully during the recent change up of health insurance companies.  For those of you that don’t know, switching health insurance companies amounts to a major logistical undertaking.  It can be quite frustrating and Melissa handled herself with grace and composure throughout the entire process.  Several associates have commented about her pleasant, willing to help demeanor.

Michael Moyer

 Michael first joined our organization in February 2003.  His time has been spent exclusively in our Hyundai service center as a technician.  In Michaels 7+ years with the company, we have watched him mature to become one of the lead technicians in our young Hyundai service center.  The past two years were filled with a lot of changes in our Hyundai shop.  Many people respond negatively to change but not Mike, not in this instance.  Mike has become a go to guy and he has worked diligently to improve his knowledge of the Hyundai product line.  Under Rex Weaver’s management with the help of Mike’s leadership in the shop, our Hyundai service team has moved up to become the number 2 dealership in CSI ranking in the district.  It’s only a matter of time before we become number one.

Liz Huddle

 Liz joined our organization back in May of 2002 and has worked almost exclusively in the Business Development Center.  Starting as an associate responsible for everything from customer follow up to internet lead management, Liz was recently promoted to become responsible for the entire internet lead management operation.  Together with her team, Liz is responsible for the timely, accurate response of customer inquiries coming to us by way of the telephone and internet.  This is a growing, increasingly important part of our business and Liz has consistently shown that she is more than capable of leading our efforts.  Dedication and excellence must run in the family.  Liz joins her husband Kyle, now our Acura sales manager as an Associate of Excellence.

Hyundai Motor America just announced that the all new 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS was named best in residual value by Automotive Lease Guide (ALG), the industry leader for establishing automotive residual values.  As stated in the Hyundai press release, the 2011 Hyundai Sonata, now available at Lehigh Valley Hyundai, outperformed “competitive 2010 models from Toyota, Nissan, Ford and Chevrolet in addition to premium brands such as Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes.”

This is quite an accomplishment for Hyundai and firmly establishes the brand as a big time player in the American retail automobile market.  Stop by and check out the all new 2011 Hyundai Sonata at your local Allentown Hyundai dealer.

Lehigh Valley Honda to Host Free Hybrid Car Safety Clinic for Area Firefighters and First Responders

Emmaus, PA – July 8, 2009 – Lehigh Valley Honda, in partnership with the Eastern PA EMS Council and Lehigh County Community College, will be hosting firefighters, EMS Technicians and other first responders at a Hybrid Car Safety Clinic at their facility located on the Lehigh Street Auto Mile in Emmaus.  Due to the success and overwhelming demand from previous Hybrid Car Safety Clinics, Lehigh Valley Honda will be hosting two separate clinics this year.  The first clinic is scheduled for Thursday July 23^rd and the second will be held on Thursday August 6^th.  Both will be from 6:30-9:00pm.  Topics discussed during the five breakout sessions at each event will cover how to disable a hybrid car battery, fire hazards posed by hybrid cars, the effects of water on hybrid cars, and air bag sensor locations and causes of deployment.

Lehigh Valley Honda began conducting these clinics a few years ago in response to stories in the national news media about firefighters and EMS technicians being killed when they responded to accidents involving hybrid cars where the complex hybrid battery systems ended up electrifying the bodies of the cars as a result of the accident.  “First responders were approaching the cars not knowing that they were hybrids and they ended up getting electrocuted when they attempted to rescue the victims.  Hearing this, we felt compelled to reach out to first responder in the Lehigh Valley and beyond and offer to educate them on ways to spot a hybrid” said Paul Goodwin, General Manager of Lehigh Valley Honda.  “The response has been overwhelming.”

Firefighters, EMS technicians and other first responders interested in participating are being asked to register with John Ott of Lehigh County Community College.  Registration and participation are free for interested parties.  Registration inquiries can be sent to Mr. Ott via email to johnott@lehighcounty.org.
