2011 Will Be Final Model Year of Production for Honda Element
Boxy, bold vehicle found many functional niches during its 9-year run

TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 3, 2010 – The 2011 Honda Element will be the final
model year of production of the innovative and functional crossover utility vehicle,
American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today. First introduced in concept form as
the Honda Model X at the 2001 North American International Auto Show, the Element
virtually created its own functional class and became an immediate favorite for small
businesses, outdoor enthusiasts and pet owners. After a long life cycle, utility-seeking
customers have more recently embraced other vehicles in the Honda lineup like the
versatile and comfortable CR-V.

“The Element proved that ultimate functionality can often come from thinking
inside the box,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda. “It
made boxy vehicle designs cool, and Element owners continue to enjoy its unique
styling and unmatched versatility.”

Developed from the inside-out, the Honda Element entered new territory when it
debuted during the 2003 model year by providing a multi-functional cargo area,
innovative and versatile seating, a durable and dirt-friendly interior, energetic
performance and outstanding value. Major upgrades were made through the years
including more power and safety features in the 2007 model year. More recently, the
Element embraced its long-held position as a pet-friendly vehicle by introducing the Dog
Friendly Element accessory package in 2009.

More than 325,000 Elements have been sold in the United States since its
introduction in December 2002.

Good news keeps coming out of Hyundai and we couldn’t be happier at Lehigh Valley Hyundai.  The 2011 Hyundai Elantra will be in our showroom any day with a starting price of $14,830 before destination of $720.  Loaded up, the 2011 Elantra will be $19,980 plus destination.

All together American Honda Motor Company has 13 manufacturing facilites in North America with nine of them being located in the continental United States.  Those factories make everything from cars to power equipment.  In 2009, American Honda (Honda and Acura divisions) built a record 84% of the cars it sold in the US market in its North American manufacturing facilities.  That was over 960,000 cars in 2009 alone.  Moreover, North American workers built over 27,000 cars for export in calendar year 2009.  All together, American Honda is employing approximately 27,000 people at its plants in North America.

Hyundai Motor America is experiencing similar manufacturing growth in the North American market.  In 2006, the first American built Hyundai Santa Fe rolled off the assembly line at the company’s brand new, $1.1 Billion, state-of-the-art assembly plant in Alabama.  Since then, the Alabama plant is now responsible for the production of the hottest car in America, the 2011 Hyundai Sonata.  Recently, production lines were added to build the all new 2011 Hyundai Elantra at the Alabama plant.  Hyundai is so fond of building cars in America with American workers that they relocated the production of the Hyundai Santa Fe to the Kia plant just over the border in Georgia.  Between the Hyundai and Kia plants in Alabama and Georgia, Hyundai Motor America is now employing over 7500 people in the United States.

Take the time and compare these numbers to those of the domestic “Big 3″ automakers and you will see divergent trends with respect to manufacturing in America.  Transplant automakers like Honda and Hyundai continue to add manufacturing capacity and jobs to the American economy while the domestic manufacturers continue to move production to other countries.  We are all for buying American.  We are all for supporting our communities.  So the next time you visit Lehigh Valley Acura, Lehigh Valley Honda or Lehigh Valley Hyundai, you can take comfort in knowing that you’ll probably be looking at a car, truck, van or SUV that was built in America by American workers.

• Ray has been a member of the Acura sales team since October 2009 so he is just celebrating his one year anniversary with the company and he is doing so in terrific fashion.  Not only is Ray an Associate of Excellence but he also represented the Acura store at an Acura Zone 2 sales contest meeting in Atlantic City.  Ray beat out his fellow sales associates to spend the evening in Atlantic City at a dinner where he had a chance to win various monies and other prizes for his sales efforts throughout the summer.  Ray has an incredible business background and it shows in his work ethic and his results.  He?s established himself as a top sales performer and he is terrific with customers.

• Linda has been a member of the Vinart Body Shop team so she is celebrating her 15^th year with the organization and in that time a lot has changed.  Linda has handled her body shop estimating responsibilities well over the years and has endured the recent changes we have instituted with the attitude and professionalism of an Associate of Excellence.  She is largely responsible for the Progressive Insurance Direct Repair account.  Body shop estimating is complex and insurance company policies and procedures with respect to claims can be tedious.  Linda, we?ve challenged her over the past year to change and adapt and she has performed extremely well.

• Dino Campbell

• Like his counterpart at the Acura store and fellow AOE honoree, Dino is also celebrating his one year anniversary with the company having started back in October 2009.  His performance is outstanding from a sales and customer satisfaction standpoint but probably his most endearing quality is his attitude and willingness to help out.  Dino was overwhelming supported for this honor by a broad cross section of associates from a variety of departments.  We think this speaks volumes about his character and commitment to the company.  We are happy to have Dino as a member of our team and we look forward to succeeding with him in the future.

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month and Lehigh Valley Hyundai is working with Hyundai USA and their “Hope On Wheels” campaign to help fight cancer.  We’ve set up a display in the Hyundai showroom including a 2010 Hyundai Genesis that is decorated with the Hope On Wheels handprint logos and paper handprints on the Hyundai wall to show our support.

From now until October 2nd, we will be hosting a toy drive to donate new unwrapped toys to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley.  Donation boxes will be located in the Hyundai showroom, as well as in the showrooms at our Acura and Honda stores along with the Vinart Collision Center.  All donations are greatly appreciated.  Items will be picked up October 2^nd.

Come join us for a “Painting Party” for children on Saturday, October 2^nd from 10:00AM to 2:00PM in the Hyundai showroom.  There will be markers and crayons provided for children to draw pictures or make cards in support of childhood cancer that will be displayed at the dealership and then delivered to the hospital.  Please RSVP to Nadia Datoo at 610-965-1295 or email her at nadia@vinart.com by September 24^th. In the month of September, Hyundai and it’s dealers will be donating over $6.8 million to hospitals and institutions all across the country that are fighting to cure childhood cancer.  At Lehigh Valley Hyundai, we are proud to join our partners at Hyundai Motor America in the fight to defeat childhood cancer.  We hope to see you at the “Painting Party” event on Saturday October 2nd.

Hyundai Motor America just announced that the all new 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS was named best in residual value by Automotive Lease Guide (ALG), the industry leader for establishing automotive residual values.  As stated in the Hyundai press release, the 2011 Hyundai Sonata, now available at Lehigh Valley Hyundai, outperformed “competitive 2010 models from Toyota, Nissan, Ford and Chevrolet in addition to premium brands such as Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes.”

This is quite an accomplishment for Hyundai and firmly establishes the brand as a big time player in the American retail automobile market.  Stop by and check out the all new 2011 Hyundai Sonata at your local Allentown Hyundai dealer.

Without a doubt, oil plays a major part when it comes to an engine’s performance and health. 0W-20
engine oil is fast becoming the recommended service fill for many new Honda models (and those from
other automakers), replacing the ever-popular 5W-20. Why? Because in engines designed for its use,
it provides superior starting performance and fuel economy without the risk of premature engine wear.

Engine wear typically happens when you start the engine cold and it’s warming up, so it’s really important
for the engine oil to get to work right away. 0W-20 is a very low-viscosity oil that’s specially formulated to
quickly reach critical engine components when the engine is started. It also helps the engine use less fuel.
The zero in 0W-20 doesn’t mean zero viscosity; it means superior low-temperature performance.

Honda has been developing and testing engines for a number of years now with the expectation that
