Five Ways to Be a Courteous Driver in Your Used Cars
When you’re driving your used car, you should always be a courteous driver. Being courteous not only makes the roads a more pleasant place to be, but courteousness also helps us stay safe. Here are some things you can do in your used cars to be a more courteous driver.
1. Use your turn signals. Turn signals are there for a reason. By letting the drivers around you know what you are planning to do, they can adjust their plans to avoid running into you.
2. Keep a safe distance. Never follow too closely to the car in front of you and try to stay ahead of the cars behind you in case of an emergency.
3. Respect other people on the road. Give drivers the right-of-way when they deserve it and allow pedestrians to cross when it is safe. If all drivers respected each other, there would be fewer cases of road rage and accidents.
4. Stay off your cell phone. When you’re talking on your cell phone, you are not as attentive as you should be to your surroundings. Hang up and drive to be a more courteous driver.
5. Smile at others. Can you imagine how much nicer the roads would be if drivers smiled at each other? Give it a try. It’s contagious!
