Master the Marketplace: Getting a Sweet Deal I

As we wrap up our series on mastering the marketplace of used cars, we thought it was about time to give you the final piece to the puzzle. Sure, you’ve got all of the help you can possibly use when it comes to figuring out how to approach the used car lot and how to talk to the salesperson. And you know how to test drive your vehicle properly and use your research to your advantage.

But do you know how to get a sweet deal on the car once you’ve picked it out, test driven it, and decided you were in love?

One of the first things to do is to know the pricing expected of the car. There will be a lot price, for certain, but that price is not at all set in stone. Most people do not buy cars based on the sticker price on the car lot, but rather deal with the salesperson to get the price to a more economically-friendly location. If you start off by telling yourself that you will not be paying the sticker price, you can set the pace for later on.

By not paying on the sticker price, you are opening yourself up to the process of negotiation. In the next entry, we’ll show you how it’s done.
