Nine Steps for Detailing Your Used Cars Yourself, Part 2

philadelphiaOn Monday, we began a series of posts about the steps to take for detailing your used cars at home. We got through the first two steps. Here are the next few that will help you save some money while keeping your used cars looking great this summer.

• Use an air compressor or compressed air on the small cracks and crevices in your car. The air vents and other small areas can get dirty and dusty over time and compressed air is the easiest way to get them clean. You can either buy the little cans of compressed air or use a small brush to clean these areas. Also, be sure to wear protective goggles for extra safety.
• Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum. Nothing can ruin the interior of your used cars more than a dirty crumb-filled carpet. Vacuum the carpets and the seats a few times to get them clean and to restore some of the matted areas.
• Clean the door jambs. A good degreasing spray is the best way to clean the door jambs. You may not think this is a big deal, but you will notice a difference right away.

Now that we are halfway through the detailing process, be sure to come back on Friday for the final three steps to making your used cars look like new again!
