Here are more tips and techniques you can use for making your used cars more eco-friendly.

•	Keep the tires properly inflated. Look for the manufacturer’s recommended PSI to ensure proper inflation. If your tires do not have enough air, you can negatively impact your fuel economy by one percent or more.
•	Combine your errands. When your engine is warmed up, it generates less pollution. As a result, doing all your errands at one time instead of separating them is better for the environment.
•	Do not overfill your gas tank. Leaked gas simply evaporates into the air and creates more pollution.
•	Park in the shade. Keeping your car cool when it’s parked will help keep the gas from evaporating and it will minimize the need for the air conditioner when you get back in the car.
•	Unload your used cars. For every 100 pounds you carry in your trunk or back seat, your fuel economy reduces by as much as one percent.
•	Use cruise control when possible. A steady speed saves fuel and produces less pollution than a constantly changing speed.

Now that you know these ways to make your used cars better for the environment, you can use them and be a more eco-conscious driver!

Did you know you can be a greener driver in your used cars? It’s true! Just because you’re not driving a hybrid around town does not mean you can’t adjust your driving habits to help benefit the environment. Here are some ways you can make your used cars “greener” and better for the benefit.

•	Look ahead on the road. If there is something that will cause you to stop or slow down, you can take your foot off the accelerator and start coasting. That will cause less wear on the brakes and even save fuel.
•	Avoid fast starts. Jumpy starts simply waste gas and they are bad for your engine.
•	Avoid aggressive driving. One second of aggressive, high-powered driving can cause as much pollution as a half-hour of normal driving.
•	Try to plan around rush hour. Getting stuck in rush hour is not only frustrating but it also increases pollution.
•	Don’t step on the accelerator before starting your car. This is only necessary in older cars with chokes or clutches.
•	Go the speed limit. Driving 75 mph decreases your gas mileage by as much as 10 percent as opposed to driving 65 mph.

These are just a few tips you can use for making your used cars more eco-friendly. Come back next time for more tips.
