With all of the hype surrounding the cash for clunkers program, many consumers have forgotten about the benefits of investing in used cars. The cash for clunkers program is not without its faults. This article describes five of those faults which make you want to visit your local used cars dealer instead of getting a new one even with a voucher. Here are some of the faults described in that article.

•	Why encourage consumers to take on more debt? Even with the voucher from the federal government, most car buyers would have to incur more debt in order to afford a new car. Aren’t we in debt enough?
•	The program requires the engine and drivetrain (among other important parts) of the trade-ins to be completely destroyed. Not only is all this waste going to end up in a landfill, but it means the spare parts for older vehicles will eventually be unavailable.
•	Even with a $4,500 voucher from the government, the price of a quality used car is much lower than buying a qualifying new car under the program’s guidelines.

Used cars are a great investment during these tough times. While everybody is trying to take advantage of the federal government’s program, you can get a great deal at a Philadelphia used car dealer. Check one out today!

Are you planning a trip to “The City of Brotherly Love” in your used cars before the summer is over? If so, you are in for a treat. But knowing some things about the city and how to get around is a great way to enhance your enjoyment. Here are some things you should know before you arrive in Philadelphia in your used cars.

SEPTA
This is Philadelphia’s mass transit system which includes buses, rail, subway and trolley. Many visitors and commuters to Philadelphia bring their used cars and park them at Broad Street where the subway picks people up and takes them to Center City and the City Hall area.

Historic District
Eight blocks east of the Center City area is Philadelphia’s Historic District. Plan to spend several hours here if you are a history buff because of the many buildings and other landmarks significant to the nation’s history.

Artisans
Just north of Philadelphia is a place called New Hope. This is where a number of artisans practice their skills and there are also many places for shopping and eating.

These are just a few ways to enjoy the Philadelphia area this summer. Bring your used cars for touring outside of the city but park them and ride the SEPTA for worry-free touring inside the city.

If you are taking your used cars on a cross-country trip this summer, one thing that will keep you going is a playlist of great road trip songs. Road trip songs will help you stay energized and excited about your destination and they are also fun to listen to. Here is a list of my favorite road trip songs that I listen to when driving my used cars.

1.	Summer of ’69 by Bryan Adams – There probably isn’t a person alive who cannot sing along with this classic. It’s fun, peppy and tells a great story.
2.	Life is a Highway by Tom Cochran – The backbone of any great road trip song is its references to the open road. This song has that and much, much more.
3.	Small Town by John Cougar Mellencamp – Any song by JCM would be a great road trip song, but this one is just fun.
4.	Free Fallin’ by Tom Petty – You just can’t get much better than this classic song.
5.	Hannah Jane by Hootie and the Blowfish – I’m a sucker for anything by HBF, but this is the first song off of their first commercially successful CD so it has a special place in my heart every time I hit the open road.

Are any of these songs your favorite road trip songs? What are some road trip songs that you enjoy when you hit the highway?
